A Long Wait 2012

A collaborative performance with Oliver Cronk and Serra Tansel
Referencing the idea of the fool's errand this piece employs the comedy potential of the 'long weight' a non existent object commonly requested by an experienced person making fun of a credulous newcomer. The performance involved a seemingly live video stream from the local sexual health clinic's waiting room projected to the audience in the viewing room where the audience expectantly a waits some kind of 'action' to unfold.
The viewing room also has a live video feed which is actually real and streams the audience's expectation onto the internet. The fake live stream is in reality a pre recorded film infinitely looped into a never ending wait. This piece plays with the viewer turning the experience of the audience around where the viewers become the viewed and the extended wait becomes a chance to experience a contemplative moment.
